The history of The UK P&I Club dates to 1869, a landmark maritime year with the long-awaited opening of the Suez Canal. Over 4,000 kilometres away in Britain, a tea clipper - the Cutty Sark - was readying for launch. Further south in the City of London, The UK Club had just formed.
International seafarer welfare charity The Mission to Seafarers has today announced the launch of its new WeCare Social Communications and Financial Literacy training programme. Supported by the UK P&I Club, the global training initiative aims to address rising levels of stress among seafarers brought on by financial pressures and the misuse of social networking platforms.
