Celebrating 150 years of the UK P&I Club
150 years together
The history of The UK P&I Club dates to 1869, a landmark maritime year with the long-awaited opening of the Suez Canal. Over 4,000 kilometres away in Britain, a tea clipper – the Cutty Sark – was readying for launch. Further south in the City of London, The UK Club had just formed.
Find out more about the UK Club’s history and how for a safer tomorrow at sea, the Club is championing best industry practice and investing in innovation. The UK P&I Club will continue to focus on what it does best: protecting shipping globally, together.
