New Chairman and CEO appointments at BLP Insurance

As of the 1st May 2012 BLP has a new Chief Executive Officer and a new Chairman.

Kim Vernau has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of BLP having been Chief Operating Officer since 2008. Kim takes over from Simon Main, who has been BLP's CEO since 2003. Kim joined Thomas Miller in 1986 having completed her qualification as a Barrister and joined BLP in 2008.

Simon Main has been appointed Chairman of BLP. He joined Thomas Miller, its parent company, in 1984 and was appointed Managing Director of BLP in 2003.

Chauncy Maples - Lake Malawi's Clinic

Chauncy Maples is the oldest floating ship in Africa. Built in Glasgow in 1899 she was carried in pieces to Lake Malawi in Central Africa. The Government of Malawi is renovating her back into a mobile clinic bringing basic healthcare to 500,000 lakeside people. More info.
